Steelworks Design announces major rebrand to AVIT Manufacturing

New brand reflects executive leadership’s plans to focus on innovation and further penetrate competitive global automation marketplace

June 6, 2019

PETERBOROUGH, ON — Steelworks Design, a design-build custom machinery company, has undergone a total brand revamp and announced today the company will operate under the new name of AVIT Manufacturing. A new corporate name and logo signals a tectonic shift in the company’s vision and strategy in the global automation industry. The company website is currently being rebuilt to align with the new brand.

“It’s important that Steelworks Design retains its established values but at the same time develops a new and modern identity. This is an exciting time for us as it reflects the progressive company we’re building for our employees, partners and customers. Our new brand is part of our plan, targeted to emphasize the strength of our capabilities, our growth, our position in the marketplace, and our commitment to always produce stellar products for our customers,” says Don Barnet, President and Chief Technical Officer.

Based in Peterborough, Ontario, AVIT Manufacturing provides integrated technology to automotive, wood processing, and energy industries, solving their most difficult engineering, automation, and manufacturing challenges.

Over the course of a year, the company worked with marketing agency, Mega Experience, through a comprehensive and structured rebranding process to reflect their growth and ambitions for the global market.

“Taking on the AVIT Manufacturing name is just the start as we continue to focus on our own product and service innovation,” says Rhonda Barnet, AVIT Manufacturing President and Chief Operating Officer. “AVIT will continue to incorporate modern technology in all aspects of our business to carry out our high-quality operations.”

“We’re also eliminating the ambiguity of the name Steelworks Design that pigeonholed us as a steel structures company, which is only a small part of our product and service offering,” adds Don Barnet.“ We’ll continue to provide highly engineered products for manufacturers across all industries, using a collaborative team approach and creative process to bring the project in on time for our customers and on budget for our stakeholders.”

To consolidate and streamline the company’s operations and to grow their business, AVIT Manufacturing moved to a larger, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at 1961 Fisher Drive in Peterborough in July 2018. The move was to improve the company’s production capabilities and be a place to foster innovation of their products. It’s also an opportunity to formalize their five lines of business (Automated Fastening Systems, Automated Assembly Systems, Lifting Systems, Engineering Services, and Service and Maintenance) under one roof. This new business structure, combined with the new operating facility, will deliver world-class results for their customers around the world.
